Philosophy of Information Technologies

An acute problem of modern social consciousness is an absence of theory that reflects the degree of interdependence of intensive and qualitative changes in information and communication that started in the second half of the 20th century. The speed of social transformation of the recent decades of general character forms a new social reality that differs from previous epochs on its ontology parameters.

Classic social methodology defined the borders of the stable society. Transit of modern societies, a situation of a period of transition, modernization, transformation appeared at its informational stage. So here is a question: could social sciences in a situation of non-reducing variability of social and cultural reality not only describe existing but think about what is required? Another question is what are the methodology opportunities and perspectives for sociocultural approach in understanding and describing information society?

Despite theme and cognition pluralism of modern social theory it states some framework conditions for self-understanding and self-description of the society. Philosophy in this case shows an interest to the social life and continues to be socio-centered metasphere in the space where all the studies concerning integrity of significant concepts and information society values. These concepts and values acquire new system features of socio-cultural kind.
